Good News on Student Visitor Visas
December 14th, 2010The UK Government recently announced that from 10 January 2011, students from outside Europe wishing to come to the UK to follow an English language course will be able to obtain a Student Visitor Visa (SVV) for up to 11 months.
This represents an increase in the maxium validity for SVVs, from 6 months currently to 11 months.
This means that students that do not have the required B1 (Intermediate) level of English to obtain a General Student Visa will be able to study English for a longer period.
In order to obtain an ‘Extended SVV’, all students will need to apply for the SVV in their own country.
There will be no changes to the requirements for students that want to study for less than 6 months: students from non-visa national countries (e.g. Brazil, Japan, Korea, Taiwan) will be able to obtain a SVV upon arrival in the UK.

Eight Reasons for using English Study Breaks
September 27th, 2010A question arose recently about why students should use English Study Breaks rather than a local agent in their own country. Here’s why:
1. ESB is a full-service agency that looks after its students through the whole process from enquiry until they get on the plane home;
2. We are based in the UK and therefore can deal with any problems the student might have as soon as they arise;
3. ESB can talk to students in their native language at any time during their stay if they wish;
4. We have a developing network of local sub-agents and so we can offer exactly the same service as locally-based agents;
5. A director of ESB meets each student at least once during his or her stay in the UK;
6. We only use the very best schools which have been accredited by the British Council;
7. There are opportunities to join the ESB team as a sub-agent when you return to your home country; and
8. We are cheaper than most locally-based agents.
What we offer in a word is ‘Value.’
